Welcome To The Novice Meteorite Hunter

Hello, my name is Joe Black (for real), I recently watched for the first time the show on the Discovery Science Channel called "METEORITE MEN". I was impressed. I grew up around the space program, my father was a Design Draftsman, who worked on some of the earliest programs dealing with Rockets, worked on the first solid rocket fuel systems for Thiokol in Pig Pen Bluff, (St. Mary's) Georgia, designed the Moon Rock Boxes for the Apollo Program at NASA working for Brown and Root- Northrup. He further worked on the design of the First Space Shuttle with Lockheed Electronics for NASA in Las Cruces, New Mexico.  Later to work on the Antares Laser program at Los Alamos, New Mexico.
I was introduced to it all by age 9 years old, and did my first Science Fair Project on the Gemini Flight.
I have since forever always had a secret romance with astronomy and astrophysics - Space the Final Frontier. I stand in awe of God's Universe, and still love to learn new things about it.
I saw the Discovery Science  television show "Meterorite Men" for the first time, and I immediately recognized the fun and profit one could have from a hobby or even a profession  like this.
So, I am giving it thought, in other words, I am educating myself on the matter of meteorite hunting, and I am interested in sharing what information I find to help get others started as well, and to keep the readers of this blog up on how my plans are moving forward to make it possible to do my first hunt and once the wanna comes to past, I want to keep others up on the next hunt, so on.
On this site, I hope that others will as well, feel free to share information with me, if they are already hunters and gatherers. I am a "wannabe" novice at this time, and haven't even went on my first hunt yet, but I won't until I am prepared and educated on what I am doing. So please share and if you are thinking about doing this as well, or are doing it, with this site and blog author. If you are a wanna be or novice perhaps this site will point you to some directions and resources I already have found in my search and research to know about this rock from outer space and the things needed to go on a successful hunt.
My strengths are Internet Saavy, finding information, correlating information and data, and educating myself as well others. I am a former Private Investigator, Security Specialist and Newspaper Journalist. I still do blog news and more.  So, I like to share information with the curious, the learner, the seeker. So this is just another avenue to exercise my skills and intellect on something of interest for me.
